Free Trade Zone

El Salvador has a world-class industrial sector that operates under the Ley de Zonas Francas and the Ley de Servicios Internacionales. The Free Trade Zones are strategically located in several of the country’s departments, in order to satisfy the diverse needs of qualified and/or bilingual human resources; terrestrial, air and maritime connectivity; digital connectivity; generation of electricity; among others.

The infrastructure of Free Trade Zones houses several hundred companies in various fields, such as textiles and clothing, distribution centers, call centers and BPO, agroindustry, electronics and light manufacturing.

FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS

El Salvador has signed several free trade agreements and preferential trade agreements, that have allowed the foundation of a commercial platform to export various tariff-free products to the following countries:

  • European Union.
  • Mexico.
  • Colombia.
  • Dominican Republic.
  • Chile.
  • Taiwan.
  • Guatemala (Central American Common Market).
  • Honduras (Central American Common Market).
  • Nicaragua (Central American Common Market).
  • Costa Rica (Central American Common Market).
